Meet Shawnetta Dunn, Ceo of Cutie Pie's Beauty Bar, LLC. Microlock & Interlock Specialist and Sisterlock Trainee with the desire to help women tap into their inner Goddess and unlock their full, natural hair potential.

Growing up, in Maryland, Shawnetta's passion for hair developed as a result of her mother throwing her own hand in utter defeat at the course struggle Shawnetta knew as her hair. Once her mother gave up, Shawnetta had no choice but to take the reins and experiment with various hairstyles between herself, her cousins, and best friends. Sometimes you must set a bird free for it to fly because not long into her hair journey did Shawnetta uncover haircare to be a surprisingly strong asset for herself, quickly becoming a fan favorite amongst her peers for relaxers, glues, colors, and tracks that were popular during the time.

Seeing the damage those type of products had on her own hair over time, Shawnetta shifted her focus from it hair, to healthy hair. So, when her sister from another mother contacted her back in 2019 to assist her with applying micro-locks in her hair, she did not eschew the challenge. Armed with nothing but intuition and You-Tube, Shawn and her sister conquered the locks effortlessly and decided together to further their newly learned skills with a Sisterlock course.

This experience granted Shawnetta the opportunity to transition from an Administrative Professional to a Business Owner. Her ongoing passion for haircare combined with her unyielding work ethic led her to create Cutie Pies Beauty Bar; a name derived of her late mom Devoria Dunn childhood nickname.

Since going into business for herself, Shawnetta number one priority has been helping women gain the full potential of their natural hair. Her personal experience with the damage left behind from tight braids, and other damaging styles make her passionate about helping women tap into their natural beauty and achieve hair goals which make them feel great about themselves, by just being a Cutie Pie!
